Dr. Kristi L. Burk is a previous salon owner of Kristyles & Co., certified hair stylist, hair care instructor, event coordinator, paralegal, and real estate agent. Dr. Burk has over 30 years of servicing the public with styles and hair care. She holds four college degrees including an Associate of Applied Science in Legal Assisting, Bachelor of Criminal Justice, and both a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology. She is an ordained deacon and a member of several leadership groups.
Dr. Burk also is a previous high school cheerleading coach, AAU boys basketball team manager, has been published in BodyBasics and Hair World magazines, inducted in Who’s Who Black In Columbus, and Who’s Who in Executive & Professionals. Dr. Burk has spent the last several years serving in the mental and behavioral health field.
Dr. Burk has a passion to serve the community and help adolescents and young adults pursue their passions. She has worked with victims of domestic violence, the homeless population, and other disenfranchised populations. Dr. Burk also has a passion for spiritually mentoring and educating women.
Dr. Burk is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and a single mother of one son. Dr. Burk enjoys traveling, reading, writing, and loves THE Ohio State University sports. Dr. Burk invites you to indulge in her devotional writings and hopes that you not only smile, but giggle with God.
About The Book
GIGGLES… She Laughs
GIGGLES...She Laughs is designed as a read along companion as you study the Book of Psalms, the Book of Proverbs, and other various scriptures. The book aims to encourage and enlighten. In my life's journey, I have experienced domestic violence, rejection, the feeling of worthlessness and failure. My shell may not exhibit this, but I have been wounded and felt I never really healed.
Compiling my writings and sharing this book has been a jump start to my road of healing. I share my testimony to encourage both women and men, young and old, that whatever life presents, there is healing in God’s Word – there is healing in loving yourself, there is healing in smiling, and there is healing in GIGGLING!
GIGGLES... She Laughs has not only put me on track to be healed from my past, but it has taught me self-love and how to forgive, laugh, and live. In light of the small part of my testimony I’ve mentioned, I’ve chosen to share so that others may reflect over their own obstacles or life experiences and come to a consensus regarding how to overcome them. I pray that you love yourself enough to push through any life challenges, one day at a time, every day, and have a few GIGGLES with God.
